Admiral Sharon:  Once know as a humble IT consultant, now promoted to Admiral. Not too shabby for a little girl born in Taiwan.  Never thought in my life that I'd be cruising the Caribbean in a catamaran.  Funny thing is, I'm still getting offers from the IT world.  Gives me the willies thinking about going back to work.  We're gonna try to put that off as long as possible!  (Admiral is more fun the unix admin any day!)

Captain Bil: Former life was a Business and Financial Analyst for Nextel WNP program office. Responsible for the management of the Nextel company wide WNP budget.  WNP (wireless number portability) went live 11/24/03 and I went sailing in March.  Gear head, loves cars and motorcycles, as well as reading, diving, sailing, fishing, and computers.

Cookie:  13/5:  A new crew member came aboard.  Steve and his wife brought her to the Cruisers Cafe and passed her over.  Salina (named for where we got her) is a tokinese, about 4 months old, and is cute. New Crew on Makai Though once she came onboard she went crazy and took some skin.  We are hoping she we settle down before we move on.

Biff:  11 year old "pound" kitty.  Enjoys sailing as long as there is table scraps (red meat).  Every time the engine stops it time for treats.

11/11:  Tragic news.  We lost Biff our cat crew member due to liver failure.  He had been with us for 12 years and many miles.  From the morning meows for food, the company in the cockpit on passages, and his warm presence.  The problem appears to have started in Bonaire, he wasn't eating and we took him to the Vet.  The vet found a mass that could have been constipation or a tumor. We gave him kitty lax and it seemed to help some, but he still wasn't eating enough.  The Vet recommended and ultra sound when we got to Venezuela, as they don't have one in Bonaire.

Once we arrived Sharon went with Liberty to Galenos.  They did some blood tests and said they would contact us later via the taxi driver, that is a different nightmare story. We were told we need to bring him back immediately and we brought Biffers to the vet where he was put on an IV drip with fluids, antibiotics, and vitamins.  It seemed to help, but the Vet recommended surgery.  We agreed it was the only way.  Once he opened him up he found that his liver was gone. At best only had a few days and recommended to put him to sleep.  We agreed.

Biff had been a great companion, friend, and a comfort all around.  We will miss him greatly and there is a big hole in our lives.

Katra: 12 year old "sucker" kitty.  Now called fatty fat cat. Though she has lost 4 pounds.  Likes the anchoring part of sailing, not the sail part of sailing.

Makai: Maxim Voyage 380.  The last 38' Voyage.  It is too small for charters, though Maxim is selling to the public now.  Built in Durban SA, launched in Feb 2003 and delivered on the bottom by Captain Ron.  It took 3 months as there was no wind in the southern hemisphere forcing them to motor.  Makai arrived on my birthday. 42nd (answer to life the universe and everything).  Makai is featured on the builder's website.  See links
